Recreation Groups

A and D Child & Family Support provides services to the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Blacktown local areas. We are an inclusive social recreation service and provide quality support to individuals of all cultures, abilities and religions. We promote choice and individuality to inspire, nurture and empower individuals to achieve their full potential, make positive social connections and access new services and opportunities.

Our program provides opportunities to develop social connections, enhance your social network, promote your self-identity, enhance your self-esteem and confidence while trying new activities and experiences.

Education Support

Education is of a high priority to us at A and D In-Home Care and at A and D Child and Family support we value children engaging in meaningful learning opportunities. Our staff are professionally trained in managing children with complex needs and we are all about having fun while we learn.  We provide a variety of services to ensure that all children have access and support to meet their educational needs.

Vacation Care

A and D Child and Family Support program provides quality vacation care for children 5-12 years old during the school holiday period. Activities both in-centre and in the community will be available.

OOSH Support

A and D Child and Family Support program provides structured programs five afternoons per week in the Blue Mountains local area.

Mobile Playgroup

A and D Child and Family Support understand the importance of social interaction and developing new skills in an environment where you feel safe and supported. We offer a weekly mobile playgroup that provides young parents/ carers/ guardians in the local community an opportunity to develop their skills while expanding their network of support.

Homework Hub

A and D Child and Family Support are committed to supporting children and young people to meet their educational needs and provide learning opportunities for them to come after school and receive additional support with completing their homework removing the added stress from parents / carers and guardians while ensuring that children and young people keep up with their required assessments and homework.

Foster Care Support

A and D Child & Family Support Program is a child safe organisation registered with the Office of the Children’s Guardian based in Western Sydney and we cater for children within NSW who are under the Parental Responsibility of the Minister.  We believe that every child, young person and their family have the right to have their basic needs met and feel safe, secure and supported.

We are a culturally diverse team and ensure that our staff are appropriately matched to the child or young person they are supporting. We offer crisis, short-term and transitional support where clients can feel nurtured and learn to develop their independent living skills while addressing their trauma.

We provide houses in the community to provide the following care.

  • Alternate Care Arrangements (ACA)
  • Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC)
  • Interim Care Model (ICM) providing.

We are a highly professional team of trauma-informed support staff who understand the complexities of complex trauma and the long-term impact it has on individuals. Our staff are all trained in supporting children, young people and adults of all ages who have disabilities, trauma and mental health diagnosis and we work in a holistic way with the carers, case workers, children, young people and their families to ensure that they achieve their goals through the development and ongoing review of an individualised case plan.

Supervised Family Time Visits and Transport

A & D Child and Family Support workers who are therapeutically trained in supporting children, young people and adults with trauma, behaviours and complex needs with transport a child, young person/s and in some cases if required, their family or significant others to a variety of locations and activities such as supervised family time visits, meetings, appointments and community events. ensuring they arrive safely.

Respite and School Holiday Camps

A and D Child & Family Support Program is a child safe organisation registered with the Office of the Children’s Guardian based in Western Sydney and we cater for children within NSW.  We are a trauma-informed service using a strengths-based program and believe that every child has the right to have new experiences, develop social connections and expand their support network while having fun in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our staff are highly trained support workers who have a comprehensive knowledge of trauma and the impact it has on the child and young person. Our staff are friendly, engaging and have the skills required to support children and young people who have complex needs and mental health conditions.

Respite: We offer respite and emergency respite options for NDIS participants and children under the Parental Responsibility of the Minister.

Camps: Overnight Camps: Enjoy time out and make new friendships in a supported structured environment. Camps are catered for 5-12 years, 13-17 years.

Living Skills Camps:  Weekend camps for teenagers to learn independent living skills while having a fun weekend away.

Day Camps: Come along and spend some time meeting new friends and having new experiences.

Types of Day Camps Available:

  • Sports camps: Spend the day trying a range of different sports, make new friends and develop your social network.
  • Music camps: Attend a music therapy session try different instruments and expand your music knowledge.
  • Cultural camps: Attend a cultural day learning about the First Nations people.
  • Craft and cooking camps: Join your friends for a fun day at the centre. Learn to cook your favourite meal and join in the craft activities.
  • Water park day: Enjoy a day at Jamberoo Recreation Action Park (limited spots will be available)
  • Horse riding camp: Spend the day enjoying a trail ride in the beautiful Blue Mountains and a picnic lunch.
